Back to Basics

Feeling like I've gone full circle.  I started here, my simple online journal.  With a morbid undertone that if anything happened to me, my girls would be able to read my thoughts and find a comfort in my photography.  Then fast forward to the world of Apps and doing everything on your phone.  I got a little lost with trying to find a platform to grow my creativity and followers.  But it felt so cluttered and not me.  Lately I have been turning my phone to silent, leaving at home and forgetting where I put it!  A chance to catch my breath and sit at a computer once more.  So feeling inspired by a few friends that ditched the social media platforms, I find myself smiling inwardly and outwardly at the slow pace of journaling and stumbling across the odd post that catches your eye.

Here is my first home grown Amaryllis that I picked up as a half priced bulb!  Eight weeks later this towering majestic beauty.  It feels fitting to use this image as it is so simple, so pure and gives me so much delight.

Welcome along, if you never been here before, hey to all the familiar folks that have watched my girls grow and my passion for story telling with the simplest of images.

If you get a chance I'd love to hear your thoughts, your journey stories.

Sussex Walk

It's fast approaching my eldest's birthday, I missed my youngest eighth birthday blog post as I was anticipating having my new website up and running.  Things are on hold as we tie up a few buying my photography online options!  So I thought this year I will put some more thoughts and my work on here.

L turns Eleven

Oh joy and wonder - L you are so much more than we could have hoped for in a daughter.  Your love for learning is infectious.  You work so hard and make it look easy.  We are bowled over by your integrity, joy and creativity.  It frustrates me a little that you don't enjoy your photo taken any more, you would rather do something else.  But know I love how you know your mind, you melt our hearts with your kindness, your faithfulness and how easy you make loving you.  My prayer is that you keep talking to us, that you love adventure and grow in grace, humility and compassion.  Thank you that you are quick to forgive, it means a lot to me, especially as this stage is a challenge and I really want to love you extravagantly.  Our hearts burst with love for you, Mum xx

These Two

It's good to be blogging again, it has been a while as I have been working on launching my new photographic website later this spring.  My girls are growing up fast and every year, it is still apparent that they crave our family time.  So we have hosted a pop up cafe - a part of their pretend play, the youngest has taken up the piano and the learning new card games.  Hope to share more about a few photographic adventures I have started work on.

Still Life Study - F I G S

This time of year when I am chasing pockets of light.  Immense joy from spending time taking shots of these favourites of mine.
