More Grey

The last few rainy days, have been too much. It is amazing how the weather effects my decisions and my mood. Please can we have a little sunshine, so that we can paint our furniture outdoors over the Easter weekend. Watch this space, as I fail to deny myself an easter egg.

Putting the pieces together

Recently I disclosed that our spare room, is more like a junk/storage room. In the light of de-cluttering and trying to organise our family spaces, I have set my mind on having a lovely guest room. I love the simplicity of the bedding in the new home range at Jigsaw. I am particularly found of the Newquay range, as it reminds of the multi - stripe retro bedding from when I was younger. Ps. I do like the dark grey walls....I am a sucker for grey!

Spring Clean

We are in the midst of a thunder storm. Yet all I think about is what on earth are we to do with our garden. It's not very big, but we have to accommodate a play area for our little ones, plants and a place to eat and relax. I am highly visual, so I love colour. I am also not very good at keeping plants alive. So I find myself distracted by the idea of an outdoor wallpaper feature by the very talented Susan Bradley. Her garden wallpaper is an design idea that I wish I had.

Found Green

Today, had a good feeling about, we had a little lie in and started the day slowly. We had plenty time to prepare Sunday Lunch for our friends and their little ones. It was a such a mild and sunny day, that we spent as much time as possible outdoors. I was drawn to looking for green things.

Our Hallway

So I feel like I am cheating, this is a shot I took for my flickr page. I try to not reuse the same photos, but today a lot of our focus was on our hallway. This is what our hallway console table looks like on a good day. Today was a different picture, we had dog poo walked through 20 minutes before our guests arrived for supper. During the best part of the morning we had boxes and bags piling up, that were either off to the Charity shop or to the dump. Also we are having a rethink about how we store jackets/shoes and bags in this area as we need a better working solution. Our hallway, is a sure case of watch this space.

Walking

For the last three mornings, I have joined a friend on a keep fit walk. It feels great to be making the most of the spring weather and enjoying our outdoor surrounding. I have to admit that Clara is struggling being stuck in the buggy. But we make up for it as she enjoys the last leg of the walk when she gets to strut along! Anyway here are a couple of shots I took of some flowers I bought on the way home.

I could be in trouble

With ten minutes to kill, I ventured into our local charity shop. This picture cost me eight pounds, fortunately when my darling husband got home, he loved it. It was close, because I was convinced he would fail to understand that having one more picture would be okay!

A little bit of Sunshine

Once my late mother decided to paint her bedroom yellow, as to lift the room. From that time, I remember vowing not to do the same. But I am starting to think about injecting the colour into our home, probably in the form of a teapot, my vintage vegetable rack and some sort of patchwork??

Merci Merci

For those of us who dream of popping to Paris for the weekend, maybe we could settle for a little bit of Paris in the corner of London's Liberty Store. This week in store they are showing of a fab collaboration between Merci Creative Director Marie France Cohen and London's Liberty. With Children in mind, the profits from the achingly hip Paris Store goes to a women and children charity in Madagascar.
Images from Liberty Blog, as is the word 'achingly' which is fast become a favourite for today!

Rocking Horse

The title of the post could be a little misleading. It is not about a rocking horse as such, but the name of a newly opened antique shop. After four days of opening I decided it was time for a little visit. I purchased this rather well priced oil painting and on my way to collect the vintage vegetable rack for displaying toys in! Jo R, you would love it, so visit us soon and I can take you there.

In need of little rest

So it seems that last week's birthday preparations has taken it's toil. Over the weekend, I came down with a hideous cold that has blocked my sinus. So today, my list of things to do dwindled as I spent yet another day resting, taking some photographs and reading lots to our youngest. The scenes are of my quite places. Before children, I would have stayed in bed all day and watched DVD's.

Cannot Stop Gushing!

There is a blog, that I keep visiting over and over again. I am unable to read the text as it is in Finnish. The photography leaves me breathless. It is with kind permission from the talent and author Minja, that I am thrilled to record and celebrate such inspiring shots. There is such a peace and gentle persuasion of seeing things differently in her images. I really hope that you enjoy them and get a chance to visit chocolatecircus blog.

5th

Today is L's 5th Birthday. Our firstborn is growing up so fast. She is fun, creative, a little shy at times, very serious, not into tidying up, enjoys being outdoors and loves playing with her little sister. I loved sharing this special day with her, I love being her Mum. May her days be blessed with health, peace, love and laughter.

Could this be?

It most definitely feels like the first day of Spring. I am off shortly to buy myself some daffodils and may even get a chance to photograph them? But for now, here are some snaps I took, whilst visiting a lovely garden nursery in East Sussex.
