This week I have been lost in the world of countdown to Open Houses.  It is finally coming together.  I've been so excited seeing the new images, printed and framed that even though I have so much to do, I keep asking people to pop in and see them wrapped and sitting on my kitchen table.  Hopefully they will come back and see them unwrapped and hung!

My dear friend Su put together another flyer for me with the aim of rolling them out in the run up to Open Houses.  I am so very shattered but excited about this year's open houses.  Also I am constantly, amazed, encouraged and touched by the online support that I've received, via pinterest, twitter, facebook and instagram.  I truly cherish and feel so grateful for all those that have stuck by my journey.  A heartfelt thank you.

Open Houses Invite

Sweet William and Limes Still Life

Tomorrow the girls return to school after our half term break.  It was very easy, relaxing and had lovely visitors from afar.  The above is one my new still life images I shot for June's open houses.

Lilac Still Life Study

With the smallest pocket of sunlight, my neighbour kindly let me snip these beauties to photograph.  I truly love lilacs and need to plant one of my very own.  Thank you for all the encouragement and well wishes I have been receiving about Brighton Open Houses, much appreciated.

Lemons Still Life

Wow this month seems to be flying by!  Last weekend saw the start of Brighton Artist Open Houses.  This is my first year showing with five other photographers and it has been a super fab start.  It runs for four weekend's in total so it feels like a busy both for me, but not complaining.  The above two are still life that I had printed off for my open house in June.  Also it has to be said that the weather is mighty fine.

Buttercup Still Life Series

When I think of buttercups, I cannot help but associate them with how as a child I would hold them under chins and check to see if you like butter!  Now my girls have followed suit and do the same.  I shoot these today as a part of my flora still life series.

Today's still life.  In our home we have been counting down the days until the end of this term, roll on tomorrow, we are all shattered.  We have no real plans other than to take it easy!

Web Shop Give Away

How late it this post?  Well, today I was due to collect my calendars from the printers by midday.  However, best laid plans and all that.  I got a message to say that it will be ready after 4pm.  So I then arranged for the girls to go to a neighbours house,  as going to the printers is not their idea of fun.  Then  at 4.15pm I hit a huge traffic jam, stuck for forty minutes and dinner was late!  Also I hadn't factored in the loss of daylight, hence the last shot of the calendar has a yellow tinge.  I will update the calendar shots as and when.  I hope that you will enter my giveaway to mark my new webshop, please feel free to re-blog.  I am giving away a set of for textured postcards and one of my mini calendar.  To enter please leave a comment.  Entry to the giveaway closes 1st Nov 2013 at 10am and the winner will be drawn later that day.  Many thanks for all your, visits and comments, I really do apprecaite them.  

Still Life - Thistle Study

The weather is really holding out.  I feel like I am able to ease myself into Autumn with readiness.  Currently thinking about what this season is bringing.  I have signed up for four craft events, my first real season doing this.  I've got a busy week working with my printers on calendars and new prints.  Also my online web shop is up and running, but still needs a few tweak.

Prop Finds

We started the day fairly early, thanks to C waking us up in her cutest voice.  The opportunity was not wasted, as I popped to the car boot to find some props to photograph and to sell.  Yes, to sell!  A friend gave me some advice to start building up my stall with props that I've used and ready to sell on.  It makes sense, as at these craft events, the lower items sell out faster than the large prints.  I am looking forward to have a little vintage find section selling items for under £5.00.
