Shoreham Air Show

The last day of August did not disappoint us, the Sun was glorious and we made the most of our day.  We managed to do a bit of gardening, prop sourcing, Sunday lunch out and then took the girls and their bikes to Shoreham to catch the planes as they flew by.  C made me laugh as the noise of the aircrafts concerned her some what.

Natural History Museum

Last Monday we started the half term holidays with a visit to the Natural History Museum.  It was thrilling, busy and an adventure for our girls.  Here are a few snaps from the day, loved these places to eat as well.

Random Weekend

With the sun shinning we spent most of the weekend outdoors, bar the time I spent de-cluttering.  L has new converse boots, her hair is so long, but we are due a visit to the hairdressers this week.  C spent time chatting away to her daddy or hiding.  Not forgetting it was all about Comic Relief this weekend, loved all the fundraising, really very moving and heartbreaking.

Made with Love

Not often in life you meet a neighbor whom you could journey through together.  Even though we both moved a distance away and we don't see each other as much as we would hope, we have that bond, those shared values, humor and sisterly connection that makes hanging out feel like all the 'yesterdays' we used to share.  Thanks lovely Jess, for all the years of friendship and to many more.
PS. Cakes made by Jess, which this space as more of her work to follow!

Oh...

If I was listening to a friend talk about all the ups and downs that has happened, I would respond 'what a nightmare, what a stress!' So I am not going to bore you with all the going ons, fingers crossed moments, and groundhog scenarios, when all I truly want to bleat on about is homemade Christmas.
On a lighter note, my gorgeous niece was christened at the weekend.  So I snapped a few photos.  Hope you feeling inspired and not weighed down during this busy month.

Sunny Sunday at Rottingdean

 The bait
 The close up
 The onlookers
 The windy moments
 The calmer ones

Over tea yesterday evening L asked what can she write about at school on Monday when they have to write down their account from the weekend.  She was most upset that her Saturday amounted to hanging around the house, whilst I did errands, missing her Dad who was on a training course in London and wondering around carpet shops as I tried to find a happy medium between cost, colour and range.  So we surprised her and took the girls to Rottingdean, Brighton for a spot of beach strolling and sunday lunch.

Leaf Project

What a sunshine filled weekend, so lucky that the weather is not too hideous.  We managed to lock ourselves this weekend and our neighbours were away for the weekend, so we had to call lock assist out!  However it meant that as we could not get in, we went to Brighton on the train as we had no car keys, which was a great delight for the girls (even though it's only a few stops away)!
Then we baked a cake, visited Wakehurst and collected leaves for our leaf project.
