Wood

Same garden, just two different piles of wood. A few weekends back I was strolling around my in -laws garden, I snapped these two pile of woods as I loved the colours. We have been making use of our wood burning stove as the winter sets in. I have found comfort in the smell of the fire, the heat and the gentle roar of the flames. We have now been in our home for the last two years, this year will be our first Christmas here.

New Label

Lately I have found time has not been on my side. What with the new school run, CLJ growing up so fast and RW's long hours, time for my blog has been limited. However, I love this world, reading blogs, discovering new things and being a creative. So I have decided to go easy on myself and create a short and sweet label called 'little thoughts'. This is when I find something I simply have to share without the added pressure of writing like I am the next columnist for a weekly paper! My fascination with tiles seems to be growing at a fast rate!

Morning light in CLJ's room

A while a back I mentioned my love for Flensted mobiles. Here is a shot of CLJ's bedroom, where the mobile hangs!

Check Mate

If only I had a free alcove, I would embrace this look. Love the Check wallpaper and the two benches. I know that check/plaid is making a little comeback at the moment and seeing this sales it to me.

What more could I ask for?

On this chilly Friday morning, I found the almost perfect baking project. I say almost as the main ingredient is NOT chocolate. However Smitten Kitchen has once again got my taste buds going, as yesterday's feature is my favourite type of scone (cheese) but with the twist of adding jalapeno. This is new to me and I have noted this and intend to make it over the weekend.

Park Life

Yet another sunny day we could make the most of. Did I tell you, how the week before I got so wet, I failed to see the funny side anymore. Armed with new rain clothing, I have been determined to be outdoors. But it has been easy for me, as the weather has been glorious. Here are some photos I took on yet another visit to the park.

More Morten

Falling in love with interiors again. Sometimes the reality of home life takes over from the romance of home and I forget about oversize lighting, injection of colour or pattern via a stunning panel on a feature wall. Often my favourite flavour to a room is the feeling of space...no toys, no paperwork or shoes that have not been put away. On that note, feast your eyes on the beautiful work of Photographer Morten Holtum, whilst I get on with the hoovering!

That Autumn Feeling

Finally we are able to upload photos again to the blog, I am so happy about this. Thanks to my lovely husband helping me sort this one! I now have a stock of images to post. My thoughts are on Autumn and being faithful in spending time outdoors. Yesterday we took the girls for a walk in one of the neighbouring villages and then to the park! Tips on keeping warm outdoors?

Sisters

Although I have siblings, one full and two half, I have been brought up as an only child. I have no real bond with may half brother or sister and I can count the number of times that I have met my full brother on my hands. So watching our girls love, cherish and enjoy each other, has been a thrilling experience and joy to me. I have friends with sisters and I continually observe their relationships so as to gain insight, sometimes peppered with a longing of my own. When listening to this mornings women's hour on radio four, I learned that an author has written an intriguing book about sisters. Previously a doctor, now accomplished writer, Luisa Dillner covers in her recent book the role and functions of sisters, citing historical figures and various present day sisterly relationships. I am sure that this book will be on my Christmas list! I am interested to know about your memories of growing up with siblings.
