Leap Year
So I have left it rather late on in the day to post this. But I really wanted to acknowledge that today marks a leap year! When I was younger I used to imagine proposing to someone on the 29th Feb, just because we can. Not to be, but still the romance of things being turned around is still there. Some random snaps over the last few days, love the ladybird red hot air balloon. Any news??

Brighton Beach
With family visiting from America this weekend, we thought that we would make the most of the sunshine and show of fabulous Brighton! My random shots include L eating a double chocolate chip ice-cream!

Still Life - Garlic
This was planned, really! A friend bought me the lilies last weekend and I planned to photograph them as soon as they bloomed. I assumed they would be white and thought that the white skin tones of the garlic, the brown tones of my wooden box and garden string would set the lilies off in my neutral still life. All bought and ready to shot for my Friday Still life and surprise they were pink! So here is my usual mix of lilies and garlic.

Harris and Jones
We still have boxes to sort in storage, yet I keep bleating on about pretty yet practical storage solutions. All R can say is 'deal with it or I will' (he would happily bin everything). Anyway I thought I would mention my box files and pen pot (not pictured) by a lovely British company called Harris and Jones. The quality is first class, I bought a box file for a friend and she too loved it. Anyway from the 22nd Feb -29th Feb is free (UK only I think) postage.

Still Life - Artichoke
Managed to photograph some artichoke for my still life series this morning. Currently we have three large piles of sorting from paper work to old clothes. But still not up to too much!

Half Term Holidays
My lovely neighbor asked if I would photograph her friend's wedding, this time I said yes! It is very low keyed with 30 guests during May. So this morning I popped over to take some of some photos of her children and their friends.

Made with Love
Not often in life you meet a neighbor whom you could journey through together. Even though we both moved a distance away and we don't see each other as much as we would hope, we have that bond, those shared values, humor and sisterly connection that makes hanging out feel like all the 'yesterdays' we used to share. Thanks lovely Jess, for all the years of friendship and to many more.
PS. Cakes made by Jess, which this space as more of her work to follow!

An Apple a day
Some other images to add to my still life series. Enjoying finding new props, but also thinking of selling them on? Today is the start to half term, a few things planned. Hope to take some photos on our travels.

On our way home
The forecast in Sussex at the moment is snow! We have had a cold week and truth be told I have found it hard to every thing done, as L is feeling a little under the weather and C cries if she gets too cold! Roll on half term. This evening on our way home from swimming this lovely moment. What I love about this shot, is firstly it looks like it could have been taken in several countries, rather then a village in Sussex. Also I would had kicked myself for not having my camera on me, but saved once again by my iphone.

Famous Five
My most favourite ginger beer. This drink reminds me of my late Mum and Enid Blyton's Famous Five. It is also a treat, as I try to indulge my urges for fizzy drinks. If you ever find yourself in an establishment that sells Fentiman's ginger beer, think of me and one of my favourite famous five quotes; “leave something for someone but dont leave someone for something”
― Enid Blyton, Five on a Hike Together
ps. Shoot with my Nikon and iphone.

Snow in Sussex
With the snow rapidly melting I wanted to mark the excitement. The girls cannot wait to get out and enjoy the snow. With it all melting, C keeps asking for some more snow. The photos are off a couple of homes on our road. My lovely orchids are from my dear friend LG, to say 'thanks'!

Still Life Friday
IT'S SO COLD! Not the biggest fan of these freezing conditions. I do appreciate that it helps 'kills' things off and makes way for 'new'.... roll on spring time.

Cold Weather Conditions
There is a yearning for spring in our home. We are done with gloves, hats, earmuffs and scarfs. We are dreaming of blossoming flowers, salad days and spring cleaning. Instead we are constantly fighting off colds, ear infections and stocking the log burner. Anyway I am still not 100% so I most afternoons, I have been flaked out reading this rather insightful and challenging book!
