New Park
On Friday we discovered a new park on route to visit family. The first shot of the girls together, is one I am pleased with, despite the hair across L's face....maybe I should bite the bullet and invest in Lightroom or photoshop?

Summer Fruit Series?
Thinking of doing a little mini series, on summer fruit? Also many thanks for your insightful, well thought out advice and comments on the last post. Please keep them coming. I keep putting off my shop launch, but not long now. On another note, we are so excited about the Olympics, my lovely husband, got a last minute chance to go to the opening ceremony tonight!

Less is More?
With or without the jug? With full leaves or less? Left or Right? Today it has been all about this savoy cabbage. After a day out in Brighton, we picked up some fruit and vegetables on the way home. The texture of the savoy cabbage has always grabbed me. Which one would you select to join my still life gallery? Enjoy the sun, Dx

Prop Buying at Ardingly Antique Fair
So for my next still life image, I have been hunting down wooden items. My favourite find was the rolling pin, which I bought from a French Flea market seller, who visits Ardingly Fair at least twice a year. Thank you for your words of support, I am still a little slow of the mark with getting the shop ready. I really am my own worse critic and a closet perfectionist!

Four Today
Our youngest, turned four today. She exclaimed to nearly everyone we met today that 'I can't believe I'm four now'! She is a bundle of fun, cheeky and a great source of entertainment. She sings her thoughts and actions through the day (really all day). Going something like this; 'it is raining today, oh raining again, again, again, again, I am going to wear my wellie boots, my boots, my boots, where are they now I know, it's by the back door, back door, back door.' C, you adore your big sister, love and loved by your friends, love singing, playing babies and watching the film Annie. This year you have enjoyed gardening, dressing yourself, pulling faces and playing flying Barbies. You love to play with Eddie, Henry, Kai, Xanthe, Yasmin, Benji, Allegra and our neighbours. You always want to jump on Daddy, annoy L and assert your will. You continue to grow in grace, compassion and wit. Thank you for blessing our family, you are most wanted. Love, mummy xxx

Making Pom Poms
Things are not in their rightful place. I asked a dear friend of mine how she keeps her home clutter free and organised. She said it is full time job, I replied "but I tidy everyday", she then enlightened me that it is an act that needs to performed hourly rather than daily! So I decided that I am 'a take me as you find me' kind of girl!
The white cake stand was a birthday gift a couple of weeks back, then the lovely postcards are by a lady called Sally Beerworth and the Pom Pom's made by me for C's 4th birthday party. I am addicted, since snapping that pom pom shot I have made a further four more. My pom pom inspiration was from one of my favourite blogs afewthingsfrommylife, visit the link and scroll down for a step by step masterclass.
The shells were bought as props and I am thinking maybe something like a savoy cabbage or cauliflower could lend itself along side the shells for the next still life? Any suggestions please?

Sunflowers Still Life
Sorry for the lack of posts, it has been a month of birthdays and events. Also a certain internet provider were upgrading the area network to improve the speed, and for a good week or so it has been the slowest EVER! All seems to be sorted now?! Today I purchased these lovely sunflowers for my next still life image, they have been a warm addition to our rainy days. In fact, L exclaimed on her return from school, "great sunflowers Mum, I really like them"! I would have to agree!

Local Flower Festival
Here are a few images from our local flower festival. It was short and sweet, but bright and beautiful.

Peaches
Thank you for your lovely comments, it really means so very much to me. Each day a little more courage comes my way. Working on an Etsy shop and will go live, when the postcards are ready, it is looking like late this month. Currently selling the prints unframed, but hoping to photograph some framed. A lot to think about. One thing I have decided is to sell under my name. Shot these peaches last week, working on a bread themed still life. Watch this space. Also when the shop goes live, I will celebrate with a giveaway!
