Still Life Round Courgette {13}

Let me start by saying I have had far too many late nights.  A couple of weeks ago I signed up for our village artist open houses this June.  So I am busy trying to select images for postcards and prints.  Today I made the most of the sunshine and photographed these round courgettes.  I have to admit that this was the first time I bought round ones!  Your valued advice please, which is crying out to be framed portrait or landscape?  Thank you x

In the company of white

The light is changing as the spring starts to settle in.  I love the subtle tones of white, a colour that has also been slipping into my pinterest boards.   Here is four of my offerings from this week.

Street Diner Brighton

More from yesterday's Street Diner launch in Brighton.  The sun showed up for a couple hours to bless the day with a buzz of people enjoying the vast array of food offerings.  It was lovely listening into conversations about the food and 'Brighton has been crying out for a street food culture' on a weekly basis.

Batch Bakery London

Today I visited a friend's launch for her street food weekly event in Brighton.  I was particularly drawn to the Batch Bakery London on the guest stand, (maybe it's my weakness for sweet things).  Glad that I snapped away and purchased a lovely salted caramel brownie, as these lovely ladies were here for a one off visit!  Fingers crossed, they'll be back, as the brownie was delicious and big enough to share!

Just Lemons - Still Life

Over here in the UK, there is a rumor that we are going to have a sun filled day tomorrow.  Not so sure myself as I am wearing the thickest cardigan I own with my slipper socks!  As long as the sun is shining, I will be happy as I have really missed shooting in beautiful light, these lemon shots were snapped late afternoon yesterday.

Tea Delight in Paris

During my short over night stay in Paris, I stumbled across this delightful tea emporium.  The smell of fruit teas and the 'take me home' tea caddies in so many tempting colours, kept me snapping away as not to forget this place.  The shop manger of Betjeman & Barton kindly let me sample some teas and arrange an array of tins as to make my choice.  I finally opted for the matt mustard caddy, truth be told, if I had a little extra cash, I would have bought another two.  Not only did I discover this note worthy shop, but I concluded that I am really slow...a little awful at making decisions.  So I have taken a book that has been sitting on our bookshelf for some weeks now and decided to read it.  It's called The Chimp Paradox by Dr Steve Peters.  Have any of you read or heard about this book?  My husband thinks that it will be good for me as I enter into the world of selling my prints via 'open houses' and retail spaces!

Nymans Garden

 On Tuesday I managed a short visit to our local National Trust Garden.  So excited it is finally spring and it has motivated me to have a clear out!

Paris

Last weekend I joined a friend who was visiting Paris for her significant birthday.  I think my awake hours were about 8 hours, so very short but sweet.  It was grey, but no rain, so grateful.  I felt inspired by the stylish French women and lovely shops (only managed two Merci and a tea shop)!  The girls are back at school and I am trying to catch with the things I couldn't do when they were home!  Roll on mopping floors.
