Aubergine Still Life

In midst of getting ready for Brighton Open Houses in May (5 weeks to go), I am still trying to shoot some new images.  Originally I would have liked round aubergines, but found these baby ones to be the perfect compromise.  I love the texture of aubergines, so smooth and shiny!  After shooting them, I roasted them with some red peppers, spring onions, garlic and a generous splash of balsamic vinegar.

Collaboration

Yesterday was the best day ever.  A chance meeting a few weeks ago, led to a liked minded collaboration with another creative soul in Sussex.  Last week Claire and I met up to plan and discuss working together and share our love for Kinfolk Magazine.  The above images are the result of our first afternoon together.  Claire's natural instinct in styling, floristry and prop sourcing was a dream to be around.  Our next project together is a food one, so excited I may burst!

Photographing A today

Today one of my lovely neighbours allowed me to take some portrait shots of her.  I first met A when she was 15, now a few years on she is one of the most inspiring teens I know.  Loved today.  Thank you A, thank you sun!

Nine Today

My eldest daughter is nine today.  Our understanding of home happened on the day you were born.  L you are hard working, open to learning and growing in courage.  From the age of three your sense of humor melts us into laughter.  You are an incredible kind soul and gentle big sister.  Your compassion teaches me, your integrity inspires us and your sensitive spirit will guide you.  You are faithful and have such a pure love for God.  This year you have loved maths, minecraft, been brave, had your first ever sleepover last Friday, got the chance to visit Downlands dance workshop, stood in assembly and read out your poem.  Hope that you know that each day we love you more.
