Street Diner revisited

My lovely friends run Brighton's weekly street food market.  It is always a tempting option for lunch, the choices, the smells and promise of good honest food, it's no wonder that so many return!

Light Hunter

Thank you for the best wishes, I am feeling much better.  This week I have been working on my web shop, cathcing up on errands and chasing the light.  I love the excitement of downing jobs and popping out to take a shot and seize the opportunity of sun-light!  I've always been a fan of natural light and this season makes me appreciate it even more.

Brighton bake off

Today the sun is out, chilly but not grey.  It's an especailly nice way to start the week as I have been poorly with labyrinthitis!  It's an ear infection and you spend the best part of the day, spinning around.  This is my third attempt to catch with my blog and other blogs.  Last weekend I had a great time photographing these lovely cakes.  I got in touch with the lovely Laura of Little Button Diaries in the hope of working together as she is super creative.  Laura suggested that I should come down and photograph the bake off that she was running alongside super+super in aid of rocking horse charity.  It was such a lovely day, witnessing so many epic cakes being entered.  Thank you all for making me feel so welcomed.  Also the event got me thinking about working on some Kinfolk gatherings in these neck of the woods.  Before you ask, yes they did taste as good as they look, (the winner was a truly delicious victoria sponge with the stunning painting of the bird).

Farrow and Ball Colour Launch

Yesterday evening I was attended the colour launch for Farrow and Ball in Hove.  Admittedly I think it may have something to do with the fact that eight rooms in our house and the garden shed were all painted with Farrow and Ball paints.  Anyhow it was a lovely event, great to see objects painted in the new range and watch the video of how the inspiration book came together.  I came home thinking what chair can I paint in one of the 'brights' and that pile of frames in the spare room would look lovely painted in Dimpse or Mole's Breath.  My favourite colours were Wevet, Stiffkey Blue, Purbeck Stone and Ammonite.  I am thinking it is between Wevet or Ammonite for our hallway. We also were given a sweet gift bag, the top image displays the contents.

Start of a new year

Today it feels odd, to be at home without the noise, mess and demands.  My girls are both back at school and I feel a little lonely starting this school year.  Last year it felt like 'new' things were happening but the rhythm of the new is still here and gradually growing.  Yet the feeling that each year they get older it's little harder to swallow that they truly grow up so fast.

Holiday Memories

Today my eldest went back to school and my youngest tomorrow.  This is the time where I pour over the summer photos and feed my pang.  Our boat ride.  C pretended to sleep during the choppy the moments and L was concerned that we may go to far out to foreign seas.
