Random Tuesday

So far it is going swimmingly well.  The girls are making the most of taking one day at a time.  I'm still finding opportunities to take photos of my birthday presents from last month.  The salt bowl, dragon fly necklace and pink bead bracelet were purchased at a village shop with some gift vouchers and book purchased out of my birthday money.

Late summer evening

The rain came and finally cleared the air, but we are still making the most of late summer evenings supper in the garden.

Passion Flower Vine Still Life Study

Now my dearest friend popped these over to me today, before she heads off on her holiday tomorrow.  I had a pocket of minutes to photograph them, due to light and my close friends were on the way over.  So if they should by miracle survive the night or I manage to get some more on my friend's return I will endeavour to continue to shoot them as a part of my Flora and Fauna series.

Visiting Wakehurst

Yesterday was the first day of the holidays, what a way to start with the sun out and a visit to Wakehurst Place.  There was a picnic lunch, follow my leader, spoting insects in the water garden, the brick labyrinth races and photo taking as the girls took there little camera as well.  Hope that you have had a great start to the holidays.

Random Monday

After a people oriented weekend, I stayed in and cleaned.  I am trying to cram as much into the next 24 hours, as to relax with the girls for the next six weeks!  Advanced warning, as much I will endeavour to keep my posts regular, please bear with me during this summer season.  No doubt I will have endless photos of the girls to post, but maybe not so much still life works of mine.  Who knows?
During the summer holidays, our village feels a little bit like a ghost town, people truly disappear.  Anyway holiday tips please feel free to pass it on.  My random shots through the week, my favourite is the rose border in someones front garden.

Still Life - Brown Paisley Jug {13}

Well what a weekend.  Jam packed and now I am looking forward to an easier week, (if possible as the girls break up for the summer on Tuesday)!  Trust that you made the most of the weekend.  Last week I shot this for my new Flora and Fauna series.  This is the fifth image in the series.  The flowers were snipped from a succulent that I have growing in a trough by our back door.  The jug was an Oxfam find some years ago, I have a particular fondness of this jug.

Evening sun in Rottingdean

Last Saturday at 5pm we decided to drive to Rottingdean, Brighton and have fish and ships on the beach.  The girls sported the events of the day (C's birthday party) with their slightly smudged face paint and party dresses.  It felt like a complete get away, so peaceful and a chance to people watch.  Young people playing frisbees, kicking a football around, roller skating, swimming and paddling.  The favourite past time at Rottingdean is to visit the rock pools.  Love long summer evenings and the hazy memories we make.

Poppy Still Life

The sun is blazing hot and it is set to get hotter.  Admitedly I take cover in the heat of the day and lounge around reading or doing pinterest as I am too hot to be bothered!  In the cool of the evening I am the most productive getting set for the next day's heat wave, as it goes on.  Hope that you are keeping cool? x

Velvet Cupcake delight

In the light of all this glorious weather we are having over in the UK, I can safely assume that you had a wonderful weekend!?  I snapped these last Thursday on C's birthday.  I have to admit they were shop bought, but nevertheless tasted good.  This week I am mainly getting ready prints ready for a craft market in Shoreham on Sea this weekend.
