Pomegranate

We are really trying to eat more fruit and vegetables instead of comfort food.  It is hard as the bitter cold sets in.  We are also trying to stay active about being outdoors, when my instinct is to hibernate.  We are attempting to put into practice living with less, enjoying this one as the true Christmas gift has lost it's meaning.  The girls and I are making some handmade Christmas bits for mood board.

Moodboard Monday

Please excuse the cheating and picture quality.  We are all feeling a little shattered over the last few days, it feels like we are fighting off a cold.  Early nights and lemon with honey for us!  So my moodboard Monday for today is taken from my pinterest inspiration board.  Next week a special effort will be made.  Hope that you are having a good start to the week.

Painted Cupboards

Finally we have painted cupboards.  Starting to organise them, one down and three to go.  Will be back in the blog world, just trying to stay on top of it all!

Mood-board Monday

It is week three of C starting school full time.  All is going well, she is in her element seeing friends everyday!  However, I am feeling a little drifty, not quite knowing what to do and where to start.  You see for three mornings at pre school I ran a tight ship and tried to cramp my agenda into three hours.  But now my days are a little longer and over five days a week.  It's not that I don't have anything to do, far from it, I have a huge list of outstanding chores, plans and aspirations on how to spend my new found time.  But the feeling that everyday could pan out the same, so I have decided to put some routine in place...(cannot help but feel like a newborn)!  I am planning to give the blog a facelift in the New Year as it lacks purpose.  My blog, like its curator can at times drift.  My first kick start is to do a mood board each Monday.  I loved printing off a couple of my pinterest favourites and magazine cuttings.  Today I wanted to create a sense of wonder with this mood-board.

Taken from our walk to Wolstonbury, love this time of year.  Hope that you have a happy weekend.

Walnut Story

Good afternoon, it has just dawned on me that it is only 6 weeks until Christmas!  C has once again woken three nights in a row, from bad dreams.  Also tomorrow night I have offered to host a pop up gift party for a friend of a friend, slightly regretting it now, as our refurbished lounge has... you guessed it, piles of boxes in it that I am trying to sort out....spare bedroom pile up I think is in order!  Meanwhile with two days of grey behind us, I made the most of our bowl of walnuts and sunlight.  My denby jugs are from ebay and a charity shop find, linen runner from a car boot sale and my chopping board was given to me by  an aunt who was having a clear out.

Sand Dunes

These were taken during our visit to Dorset a couple of weeks ago.  I love winter clothes with the backdrop of sand and sea.  Also slightly obsessed with sand dunes.

Pickling Garlic and Onions

I remember at the start of spring my mum would pickle vegetables ready for the autumn months.  For at least two years I have been promising myself to start pickling garlic (and the onions were to irresistible to photograph).  So this month I am on a mission to do just that.

Stacked Up

I am back to my old tricks, I have a list of chores, so I randomly clean a cupboard to distract myself.  Not only do I clean, I play arranging and photographing the contents.  I am putting my hands up to my tendencies to procrastinate and confess all!  Most defiantly two hours of my life that I will not get back.

Parents in Law

A few weekends back we visited our family and friends in Hertfordshire.  I love the sense of history and rooms being untouched at my in laws.  R is one of five, his parents home has some redundant rooms in the light of the children flying the nest.

More Lounge Images

This end of the room is finished just a few touching up of the paintwork.  My latest edition was the round oak coffee table bought on Ebay for £7.00, most of the paintings are from charity shops or car boots! Also my dear plant pot and tray set me back 50 pence!
ps. C started full time today and it feels strange.

Styling Challenge

Today I thought that I would set myself a styling challenge.  To be honest I have decided to take up Veronika's offer to style my prints, but as I have these two back from the framers I couldn't help myself.      Presently I am only selling my framed prints to those that have enquired about them.  I have been chatting to a couple of retail/coffee places in Brighton about showing/selling my work and they have requested the prints to be framed.

Long Distance Friendships

We left Hertfordshire when L was one and half.  It was a sad affair having to say bye to our dear neighbour's.  Our little ones have such a lovely bond.  We popped to our favourite rock pool in West Sussex.  At the end of the day the oldest two, shed many tears.  Roll on Christmas for our next meet!
